The latest trailer has been revealed for the new Seth Rogen satire series Bryan Cranston, Paul Dano, Zac Efron, Catherine O'Hara, and Kathryn Hahn.
Apple TV+ has now released the new trailer for The Studio during the Super Bowl. The trailer begins with a fake newscast that speaks of "chaos" in the city and a shelter-in-place order. Actors Johnny Knoxville and Josh Hutcherson wield weapons as they prepare to take down a zombie, who ends up baring his cheeks and letting out explosive, bloody diarrhea onto Hutcherson. This scene is revealed to be a trailer for DUHPOCALYPSE, a trailer made by the filmmakers in The Studio, who find out theaters do not want to show the trailer.
What This Means For The Studio
The Studio Will Include Ample Commentary
The Studio trailer showcases the star-studded nature of the comedy series. Hutcherson appears in a small role in the DUHPOCALYPSE trailer, adding to the already impressive cast. When the scene cuts to the studio making this obscene zombie movie, the production company is revealed to include a litany of stars including Rogen and more. If a star of Hutcherson's caliber is included even in a goofy trailer within the show, the series is sure to be jam-packed with major talent.
The Studio is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The end of Rogen's character being quite insistent on the trailer showing the zombie diarrhea despite DUHPOCAYLPSE being "a very deep and complex film."
Our Take On The Studio Trailer
The Studio Looks Promising
The Studio trailer makes the show look like an amalgamation of everything Rogen does best. On the one hand, there are the raunchy comedy elements that he is known for from projects like Sausage Party. On the other hand, there is the more biting satire of projects he has produced, such as The Boys, which provides an additional layer of intrigue. If The Studio is able to balance this tone throughout the series, it could set itself up to be the next big Apple TV+ show.
