The Umbrella Academy season 3 dropped on Netflix after a two-year wait, and fans are already taking to social media to share their thoughts and hilarious reactions to the new episodes.
The superhero sibling team finds themselves seemingly replaced by the Sparrow Academy. They're forced to deal with another apocalypse, and a few family issues this season, and Allison's had a particularly tough season. She finds out her daughter does not exist in this new timeline and spirals, lashing out at her siblings and making mistakes along the way.
Note: One of the memes refers to the character Viktor Hargreeves by his dead name as this meme was made before the character's transition in the series.
Allison's Going Through It
Fans find out in the season premiere that Allison's daughter, Claire, does not exist in the timeline they are currently stuck in. Allison is grief-stricken and stuck in her disbelief at this reveal.
However, instead of confiding in her siblings, Allison goes on a reckless rampage, torturing people along the way trying to coerce her siblings back to a timeline where Claire is alive. She's exhausted, and watching her on this path of destruction is equally as exhausting for fans. This infamous meme of Ben Affleck looking exhausted is the best representation of Allison this season, she can't catch a break and she desperately needs a day to herself. It's understandable why she's exhausted.
Allison's Anger
Allison struggles with her relationships with her siblings, and this has never been more true than in the new season. After a heated exchange with Viktor, Allison cruelly tells him that they should have left him in the basement. Viktor's past is shrouded in trauma, especially from being kept in a soundproof vault by Reginald during his training.
Many fans were shocked by Allison's outburst and the viciousness of her words towards her brother, but perhaps no one was more shocked than Viktor himself. It caught fans off guard, with many being shocked and speechless at her attack. It was very out of character for Allison, leaving viewers shaken, hence the reactions online.
The Briefcase
While multiple storylines are going on in season 3, the time travel briefcase is arguably one of the more important ones. It's what allows the team to travel back and forth between timelines and eras. Allison's entire focus this season is getting back to the timeline they were in before, where her daughter, Claire, is still alive.
When the siblings are eventually used to their new surroundings, it's revealed that Five does not have the time-traveling briefcase, much to Allison's dismay. Five seemed so caught up in the new timeline, that he avoids any questions relating to the briefcase, leaving Allison clueless, much like Pe in this iconic Star Wars meme.
Allison Trying Her Best
As previously mentioned, Allison isn't having the best season. She's going through a lot and struggling to keep her head above water. There are several moments where she's trying to come to with everything that's happened.
In one particular scene this season, she's trying to confront herself and keep herself calm. Which is easier said than done, she's been through more than most. Her scene in front of the mirror is unfortunately relatable to fans, with many having been there themselves, for different circumstances. Hence the reaction with fans finding humor in this otherwise heartbreaking scene. Allison is better than most at convincing herself that everything will be okay, so hopefully, she can do the same again.
Allison, Rumour-ing
Fans of the major hit show will know that Allison's power is mental manipulation, by starting a statement with "I heard a rumor" she can control people to do whatever she wants. This has landed her in trouble before, when she releases she's been using her power to manipulate those closest to her.
After almost losing her powers, she wastes no time using her voice again, this time with deadly consequences. She tries to keep this on the down-low, hence the whispering, but still goes around threatening people. No one better get on the bad side of Allison, because it's clear she will waste no time in Rumour-ing again to get her way. So much for using her powers for good.
Allison's Training
Like the other siblings, Allison went through intense training when she was younger to practice and perfect her deadly skills.
Some fans have proposed some hilarious suggestions for what could have been done to make Allison's powers better. If Allison learned how to speak as quickly as an auctioneer, there would be no stopping her. It does bring to mind some pretty funny ideas of Allison walking around in the middle of a fight, speaking so fast that no one knows what's coming. One of the funnier fan theories has prompted several funny conversations. Especially considering how out of character it would be for Allison, but it would fit with the goofier side of the otherwise serious series.
Emotional Moments For Allison Stans
This season sees Allison go through the works. By the end of episode 10, she's in the rebuilt universe and reunited with Claire. There are other realizations at the end of this season that have fans talking about the possibility of a season 4, but Allison fans expressed their emotions at seeing the reunion.
It's easy to say that Allison fans have had a rollercoaster of a season, and the final scene proved too much for some of them. Compared to her siblings, Allison's backstory arguably isn't as tragic (at least she wasn't sent to the moon). The sudden emotional backstory and character arc this season took viewers by surprise. Many are still trying to process her entire character arc this season, a lot happened that will take a few days to sink in.
Allison's Old Crush
Luther has been heavily criticized by fans for his crush on his adoptive sister, Allison, in the earlier seasons. Allison isn't free of this criticism either, from both fans and her siblings.
As the meme explains, it's technically not incest because Allison and Luther are not blood-related. Although anytime a defense starts with technically it's not incest, it's usually not a great defense. Luckily Allison and Luther have both moved on by season 3 (although Luther's still crushing on a new adoptive sibling). Klaus always provides some of the funnier scenes in the show, and this one was no exception. If even Klaus is shocked, who's rarely shocked by anything, clearly the revelation was serious.
Allison's Underused Ability
There are several debates about which sibling has the better power, each of them has a varying level of destruction and strength which makes them beneficial as a team. Some fans believe that Allison has one of the stronger powers, given that she can make anyone do anything she pleases.
However, these same fans also believe that her power is underused in the show. Allison rarely uses her power to do anything too violent or aggressive, this may be a reflection of her character or her lack of wanting to inflict mass damage. She's tame, especially compared to her siblings, who have wreaked havoc multiple times before as a result of their powers. Either way, her powers are pretty cool and fans would love to see more.
Allison's Fanbase
Allison's had one of the most complex seasons and her grief has led her to commit acts she might not have done otherwise. A lot of fans are struggling to come to with where her character was left off at the end of the season.
Fans have also had a hard time defending her online, with several of them agreeing that her actions were uncalled for and unjust, and some saying it was uncharacteristic. Watching a favorite character go through something traumatic is difficult, even more so when fans can't defend their actions, much like Allison fans this season. They're frustrated and exhausted. Some fans are hoping she gets a redemption arc, but at the moment it's a lot of pain and upset.
