The premiere of season 11B of The Walking Dead is quickly approaching! Hitting televisions on February 20 and AMC+ on February 13, fans are hoping some cliffhangers from the previous installment, 11A, will be revisited and resolved to help ease their anxieties.
Season 11A has seen many plot holes and unanswered questions, generating mass confusion and panic amongst viewers. With multiple characters facing death and many others in very sticky situations, fans want to make sure their favorites continue to stay safe and most importantly, alive.
The Ferals' Origin
The sixth episode, "On the Inside," is arguably one of the most terrifying episodes of the series and saw the introduction of a disheveled and dilapidated group, aptly named The Ferals (who terrorized Virgil and fan-favorite Connie) trapping them in their house of horrors.
The animalistic Ferals appear out of nowhere and have left fans wondering where they came from and what made them resort to this way of survival. Even though some of the Ferals were killed, it's unknown if there's more out there since no one knows much about them.
Rosita's Well-Being
In the mid-season finale, Rosita exploded during the storm and pulled a Rick Grimes. She went outside and slaughtered all the Walkers in the yard of Aaron's house to protect the building and everyone inside. However, when she comes back inside, she's breathing hard and has a look of worry and exhaustion on her face.
Because of this explosion and her seemingly distressed emotions, fan theories have risen on YouTube surrounding Rosita and if she was bitten while she was outside. The fan theories go into great detail about locations of blood on her body, but all the commentators have one thing in common: they all hope this isn't true and she lives through 11B.
Dog's Location
Daryl's furry sidekick (and newest best friend), Dog, was last seen in the fourth episode "Rendition" when Daryl discovers Dog had returned to the side his former owner, Leah (who was revealed to be a part of The Reapers). In a shock to viewers, Dog refused to respond to Daryl's calls and stayed loyal to Leah, even after being away from her for months.
After this episode, fans have been left wondering where the adorable canine had gone in all the chaos of The Reapers' storyline and if he's okay wherever he's being kept. Fans are also wondering if Dog will continue to stay with Leah and The Reapers or end up running back to Daryl.
Alden's Fate
Alden, former Savior and current Hilltop member (as well as the former boyfriend of the late Enid) last appeared in the third episode "Hunted." The last the audience saw, Alden was severely injured in a Reaper attack and was left behind by Maggie and Negan in an abandoned church (with nothing but a knife and some food).
Fans were preparing for another character's death on their hands after Duncan and Agatha's deaths just minutes before. However, Alden was seemingly brushed to the side before anything happened to him. After five episodes of wondering if he's managed to stay alive in the church, fans want to know for sure if Alden ended up succumbing to his injuries like he thought he would.
Daryl and Leah's Relationship Shift
A bombshell was dropped on fans (as well as Leah) when Daryl finally gave up his true intentions of infiltrating The Reapers after Leah murders Pope, the leader of the enemy group. However, Leah suddenly broadcasts Pope's death to other Reapers and pins it on Daryl, shocking and confusing fans.
After two very different acts of betrayal in their own rights, fans are interested to see how the dynamic between him and Leah will be affected as a result of this incident. Fans are also hoping that Daryl completely distances himself from Leah and grows closer to either Connie or Carol, or see where he goes now that he's a target.
Gracie and Judith Trapped in the Basement
Among the survivors in the house Rosita defended were Judith and Gracie. After a close call with a window Walker breach, Judith saves Gracie from being bitten and goes to evacuate upstairs with her brother R.J. However, just before she can take Gracie upstairs, the basement quickly floods and the two girls find themselves trapped.
Viewers are hoping the two brave Walking Dead children are saved in time but are biting their nails to see how it all goes down. With the Walkers finally breaking into the house and keeping them in the basement, fans can only hope they survive this dire situation.
Leah's Role After Pope's Death
Leah Shaw had been second-in-command and Pope's right hand when it came to running The Reapers. After seemingly changing sides and taking down Pope, she blames Daryl for the murder and immediately turns cold to everything and everyone.
Fans are already concluding that Leah is now the leader of the group and did it for a power grab. However, fans are wondering if the other Reapers will follow her or break free from her rule. The question of how ruthless Leah will become and what she'll do to Daryl and his people also still remains now that she knows the truth.
Alexandria's Fate After the Storm
Alexandria has been through many disasters since its first appearance in late season five, but it seems it's getting to the point where it might not be able to withstand much more. During the aggressive storm, the windmill catches on fire and breaches are made in the wall (which lets Walkers inside to bang on the windows, doors, and the houses, breaking them).
Alexandria has been suffering from recent food shortages and constant wall breaches. Even though its inhabitants have been constantly picking up the pieces in order to restore community and order, viewers are wondering if this storm was the last blow to Alexandria's stability.
Eugene Giving Away Alexandria's Location
After punching the governor of the Commonwealth's son during a heated altercation, Eugene is thrown in jail. While in jail, the Deputy Governor of the Commonwealth Lance tells Eugene that the only way he can get out and keep all his friends safe is if he gives up the name and location of Alexandria. As Lance is leaving, Eugene tells him to wait.
This moment made fans hold their breath, waiting for Eugene to reveal everything like Daryl did, was the last they saw of the situation. Fans predict he'll give up the location and name to save his new love, Stephanie, as well as Ezekiel, Princess, and Yumiko, but are still waiting to see if that's how it ends up.
The Fate of Negan and Maggie
The biggest cliffhanger haunting viewers is the fate of Negan and Maggie after Leah lit a gigantic block of fireworks that was aimed towards them and the Walkers that flooded The Reapers' base after a large infiltration to try and bring them down.
The last few seconds of the episode showed the lit firecrackers flying out from their positions in a flurry of light. Before the screen went to black, a firecracker flew directly at the camera and left audiences on the edge of their seats, wondering if Negan and Maggie were hit by any of the projectiles. Fans are hoping this is the first scene of 11B as well as the first thing they address to curb their fears that two main characters had been killed.
