Coming on the eve of the season 3 finale, the latest news confirms that The Way Home has been renewed for a fourth season. Wasting no time in securing the future of the unique drama series, Hallmark was swift to order more episodes, and is aiming to release them in 2026. To commemorate the show's renewal, the Hallmark Channel on Instagram shared a video of stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh expressing their excitement for "more romance, family drama, mystery, and, of course, time travel."

After the swift and resounding renewal of season three in 2024, it seemed like the sky was the limit for The Way Home on the Hallmark Channel. However, the series did hit some bumps when attempting to bring season 3 to air which could have hurt audience trust. Hallmark tried to release the show as a streaming exclusive, and planned to air the episodes at a later date. Backlash caused them to reverse that decision, and it seems to have worked out for the best. Now, Hallmark has renewed The Way Home for a fourth season that's expected to arrive in 2026.

Regardless of what happens throughout the series, there are three guaranteed returns for The Way Home season 4. Anchoring the series through all three seasons thus far, Andie MacDowell will be back as family matriarch Delilah "Del" Landry. Likewise, she'll be ed by Chyler Leigh as Katherine "Kat" Landry Dhawan, Del's daughter and the mother of Alice. Speaking of, Alice will once again be played by Sadie Laflamme-Snow. Another near-certain return is that of Evan Williams as Elliot, especially since he still carries a torch for Kat. Jefferson Brown will also likely be back as Colton Landry.
