I have faith that end of The White Lotus season 2.

Since she appeared in the first two seasons of the show, Tanya is very much the face of The White Lotus, in my opinion. After all, she is the star of most of the memes that go viral from the show. Therefore, even though The White Lotus season 3, episode 1 was very good, it felt weird not watching Tanya interact with people at a new White Lotus resort. However, even though Coolidge won't be in The White Lotus season 3, it seems like her character will still have an impact on the season.

The White Lotus Season 3 Is Good, But I Really Miss Jennifer Coolidge

Tanya Is Arguably The Best White Lotus Character

After an incredible second season, I have high hopes for The White Lotus season 3. The plotlines that are set up in the premiere episode have me intrigued. I'm very curious to see how this week will end in a seemingly massive shootout, which was teased in the first scene of The White Lotus season 3. Therefore, this season definitely has my full attention and interest, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss seeing Coolidge's Tanya on my screen.

No one interacted with other guests quite like Tanya, and she always had something hilarious to say.

Since she died in The White Lotus season 2, it's understandable that Coolidge didn't return for the third season of the hit HBO show. However, this means that season 3 has to do extra work to provide some entertainment, since Tanya was arguably the best part of the first two seasons of the series. It was great watching Tanya form a relationship with characters like Belinda in season 1 and Quentin in season 2 (until this ended in disaster). No one interacted with other guests quite like Tanya, and she always had something hilarious to say.

There's No One Quite Like Tanya Yet In The White Lotus Season 3

Tanya Is A Very Unique Character In The White Lotus

Since Tanya was such a unique presence in the first two seasons of the show, it doesn't seem like any of the characters in The White Lotus season 3 will be able to replace her. To be honest, I think it's probably impossible to replace Tanya, but I still hope one of the characters in season 3 stands out slightly more than the others to fill the void that Tanya's death has left. No one in The White Lotus season 3 is giving as much of a designed-to-be-viral performance as Coolidge was, but there are still some interesting characters, nonetheless.

Tanya clearly wore her emotions on her sleeve in the first two seasons of The White Lotus. Therefore, after her intense sobbing scene in the season 3 premiere, I think Carrie Coon's Laurie could potentially be the one to steal the show the most this season. This is not to say that a specific actor should be trying to compete with Coolidge's iconic performance in the first two seasons, but her presence will definitely be missed, since she was such a defining part of the show.

Could Jennifer Coolidge Ever Return To The White Lotus?

Characters That Tanya Was Close With Are In The White Lotus Season 3

Even though Coolidge did not return for The White Lotus season 3, her character will definitely remain an important part of the show. This is because Belinda is one of the main characters in the new season. Tanya and Belinda previously formed a special bond in season 1 before Tanya backed out of their plans to start a wellness center. The effect this had on Belinda will likely be further explored in The White Lotus season 3. Additionally, Tanya's former husband, Greg, also shows up in the first episode of The White Lotus season 3, going by the name Gary.

Greg's inclusion in this season will likely lead to some major drama. It is a shame Tanya herself can't return to get revenge against Greg for (most likely) orchestrating her murder. Technically, Coolidge could return in a future season of The White Lotus if it was set in the past. Coolidge would likely be willing to return, since she told The Hollywood Reporter that she was "jealous" of the season 3 cast. However, I think it's unlikely that Coolidge will ever appear in The White Lotus again, which is disappointing since Tanya is such an iconic character.
