Did you end 2019 by binging all eight episodes of the first season of Netflix's new fantasy series, The WitcherIf not, you should have. If you did, well, we know that you're clamoring for the next season, even though we will have to wait a little bit since they haven't even started filming.

Working under the assumption you have not read the books (which spoil the end of the series and leave viewers with so fewer questions) there is still a lot the show has left to explain. Besides the crazy mixed-up timelines of Season 1, there are cliffhangers galore for us to ponder between now and the next season. So without further ado, here are 10 burning questions we hope that The Witcher Season 2 answers.

What Happened to Yennefer?

Nilfgaard's attack on Cintra was pretty intense, but viewers spent a lot of time following Ciri through that battle, rather than as part of it. That was very different when it came to Yennefer and the Battle of Sodden Hill.

We got to watch her move the pieces until finally, she came down from her tower, sucked up all the fire and magic burning in chaos around her, and then sent it into a searing attack that seems to have burned all the Nilfgaardians around her. But what about Yennefer? Did she perish in her task? Is she unconscious somewhere? Viewers don't know, and we hope it doesn't take too long for Season 2 to fill in the blank.

Who Won Post Sodden Hill?

Yennefer, dead or alive, conscious or unconscious, seems to have won the Battle of Sodden Hill for the mages and for the north. However, the question remains, who won the war? Is Cintra safe? Is Ciri? Are the other Northern Kingdoms? Or is this merely a bump in the road for the might that is Nilfgaard who will take only a moment to recoup their forces and attack the north once again?

That's a question that still needs answering, and certainly something Season 2 will have to address as soon as it premieres.

What Are Ciri's Powers?

Viewers have already watched young Ciri put her powerful lungs to use a number of times. We also watched her go into a trance and then wake up to find her attackers slane around her. So with that in mind, what exactly is the nature of Ciri's mysterious and much sought after powers?

She doesn't seem to direct her gifts like Geralt or Yennefer (though she hasn't had any training) but she also seems to be able to do much more without any training as well. Perhaps, now that she has found Geralt, they can find the answer in Season 2 together.

Will Geralt Teach Ciri?

Ciri and Geralt found each other in the closing moments of Season 1. Now the question is, what will their relationship actually entail? Will he be her sworn knight and protector? Or will he actually teach her, perhaps to use her mysterious powers, or perhaps merely to be able to fight at least half as well as he does.

Their relationship and the information and training they will or will not share with one another will likely come out sooner rather than later. But it will be some time before any of us can watch.

Will the Big Three Come Together?

Despite a few brief encounters Season 1 saw Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, very much on their own paths and in their own storylines. Now that Geralt and Ciri seem to have at last ed forces, will Yennefer (if she survived Sodden Hill) soon be ing them?

The story may have kept them apart on screen, but it's clear the plot is meant to bring this trio together for some greater purpose. Will we have to wait until Season 3 to see Yennefer Geralt and Ciri? We certainly hope not.

Will Jaskiet Meet Ciri?

Jaskier with one eye closed in The Witcher

While it seems more important that Yennefer meet Ciri, Geralt spent far more of Season 1 in the company of bard, Jaskier, than he did Yennefer. Though the singer was missing on Geralt's last adventure, one wonders if perhaps he will run into Geralt and his new ward long before the sorceress is able to.

It's not a guarantee, but it's certainly something Season 2 will address as soon as its episode descriptions hit the internet.

What is Vilgefortz Doing?

So, Vilgefortz started the fight at Sodden Hill clearly working with his other mages, he actually sort of helped plan things. By the end though the sorcerer was back on his feet and stabbing another mage, one who was very clearly on his side, to begin with.

There's a lot more of an agenda with this guy than has been clearly explored yet, and no doubt he will have some questions to answer himself when we finally hit Season 2. He didn't have a lot of screen time in Season 1, it looks like that might be about to change.

What's Up With Those Potions?

Geralt always seems to be pulling a bottle of one kind or another out os his bag or his pocket and guzzling it down to fight one injury or another. But, what exactly are those potions?

Where do they come from? What are they supposed to do? Perhaps, if Geralt does take Ciri to train with him he will teach her (and the audience) about what exactly he's been consuming for an entire season. They don't seem to be perfect healing potions, so there must be more information out there.

Will Yennefer Still Be Obsessed with Children?

Yennefer stands in the desert in The Witcher

It seems that should she have survived the Battle of Sodden Hill, Yennefer has finally come into her own as a sorceress. She's got a lot of power, she now knows how to use it, and everyone else is also aware.

Does that mean that her goals might change? Will she still be obsessed with regaining her ability to have children or will she have other goals and desires now that her status in the mage community seems to have changed? First she has to survive, and then fans will have their question answered.

What Was Geralt's Wish?

Let us recall the episode with the djinn. That's a big episode, not only because it's good, but also because it is the first time Geralt runs into Yennefer (timeline-wise). Whatever his final wish is it saves both of their lives and, as Yennefer later claims, binds them to one another in some sort of way.

But what exactly did Geralt ask the djinn for? Will it have any bearing on his relationship with Ciri? Or Ciri's relationship with Yennefer? Or the fate of the world? Right now, we don't have any answers. Hopefully, Season 2 provides the answers and closure we desperately need.
