Korg is officially returning in Avengers: Endgame this year.

Since Thor: Ragnarok redeemed fans' faith in the Thor 4 was officially happening with Waititi returning to direct. Over the course of the last few months, fans have gotten several updates on Thor: Love and Thunder, with some of the biggest announcements coming from San Diego Comic-Con. Unsurprisingly, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are returning for Thor 4, but one of the more shocking announcements was that Natalie Portman would become female Thor. It's unconfirmed which other characters are returning for Thor's fourth film, but Korg is officially coming back.

While promoting his film Jojo Rabbit, Waititi appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about his film. A good portion of the interview talked about Waititi playing Adolf Hitler in Jojo Rabbit and how he pitched the film to Fox, but Waititi was also asked about Thor: Love and Thunder in the last few minutes of the interview. Waititi briefly talked about Portman returning as Jane Foster, before confirming that his character Korg would also come back in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Waititi's success started with The Mandalorian and will also voice the character IG-11 in Disney's TV series. As previously mentioned, Waititi will not only direct and voice Korg in Thor: Love and Thunder, but he also wrote the script for the movie.

Korg may have had a small role in his two MCU appearances, but fans can't seem to get enough of the character. Thor: Ragnarok heavily relied on comedy to win over audiences and Korg was certainly a part of this comedic relief. Given the success of the Thor: Ragnarok, comedy will likely be infused into Thor: Love and Thunder as well. Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to start production in early 2020, so fans can expect to hear more announcements from Marvel in the coming months.
