The Thor may be in love with Star-Lord, but it also offers an indication that the film will also continue establishing a mistake made by Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Michael Rooker's Yondu was one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's post-credits scene to be unable to properly control the Yaka Arrow.

As Kraglin has primarily served as comic relief, he was far from the obvious choice to inherit Yondu's weapon. His role doesn't seem to have changed much, and a brief glimpse of him in the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer further proves that he was a poor choice of person to be given the Yaka Arrow. Kraglin can be seen rushing into battle wielding a gun with the Yaka Arrow nowhere in sight, implying that he either doesn't understand or simply hasn't learned to control it properly. This shows that Thor: Love and Thunder will continue the trend of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's post-credits scene by having Kraglin continue to act as comic relief to Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Kraglin's inability to competently use the Yaka Arrow was at the heart of his credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, indicating that he still isn't using it in battle in Thor: Love and Thunder will most likely serve as a continuation of that. Though Kraglin's general incompetence is what makes the character endearing, his wielding of the powerful weapon makes very little sense.

Kraglin with his arrow

Though James Gunn confirmed that giving Kraglin the Yaka Arrow wasn't originally Yondu's intention, Star-Lord ed it to him as a reward for his continued loyalty. This misstep falls in line with Star-Lord's character but is a deeply unsatisfying way of continuing Yondu's legacy. The Yaka Arrow was wielded brilliantly by Yondu, and having it to someone so incompetent feels like a dangerous choice within the logic of the MCU.

However, as Kraglin is still seemingly in possession of the Yaka Arrow and hasn't yet been shown to have learned to use the weapon, it seems that the issue from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 remains. Kraglin may still own the lethal and powerful weapon, but he lacks the means of properly using it. The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer indicates that Kraglin would still rather equip himself with a more traditional weapon, highlighting what a poor choice to inherit the Yaka Arrow the character was.
