Warning! Spoilers ahead for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Marvel Studios may have brought back the Soul Stone in Thor: Ragnarok. Despite being set after the events of the Infinity Saga, the Soul Stone may have been secretly incorporated into the movie's narrative as hinted by a specific detail in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder sees Thor in a match-up against a formidable, but empathetic foe in Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Luckily for him, he has a solid team behind him including King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who welcomes the mission after mostly dealing with bureaucratic responsibilities as the leader of New Asgard, as well as Korg (voiced by Taika Waititi). The God of Thunder is also ed by his ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), a.k.a. Mighty Thor, who wields the magically repaired Mjölnir. As his name suggests, Gorr the God Butcher's main goal is to get rid of all gods, and to efficiently do it, he aims to seek the cosmic entity Eternity for help.
At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Gorr the God Butcher is able to reach Eternity, but he isn't alone. A dying Jane Foster and Thor are able to follow him in the hopes of stopping the villain from his nefarious plan. Interestingly, however, the whole backdrop is reminiscent of Soul World, which one only gets to access upon the use or acquisition of the Soul Stone as seen in both Soul World had in Infinity War and Endgame. Despite their similarities, Soul World and Eternity's space are not the same. However, based on their respective depictions, they are both separate pockets of dimension in the MCU.
What Thor: Love & Thunder's Eternity Is (Comics Origin Explained)
Eternity was once mentioned in the ending of Thor: Love and Thunder that the character factors into MCU's storytelling, although he has long existed in Marvel Comics. In print, Eternity is the de facto leader of abstract entities known as the Cosmic Powers of the Marvel Universe. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Eternity, wh0 bears some resemblance to Galactus, alongside his sister, Infinity, is deemed one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, only answering to the Living Tribunal. Marvel Studios' depiction of Eternity, however, doesn't give much away other than that he is able to grant one wish to anyone who reaches him, hence Gorr's mission to reach him.
After Thor: Love and Thunder, it's uncertain if Eternity will once again factor in MCU's storytelling. In any case, Marvel Studios can opt to fully introduce the entity later in its storytelling and focus on other narratives in the meantime. At that point, perhaps it can also reveal more information about him, including details regarding the space he exists in the universe and explain why it's reminiscent of Soul World.
