Warning! Spoilers for Heroes Return #1 by Marvel Comics below.

In a world without the Avengers, Hyperion of the Thor is reawakened and s the fight against Marvel's Superman pastiche in the final chapter of the Heroes Reborn saga, the two heroes engage in a slugfest of epic proportions, with only one of the God-like characters coming out of the battle victorious.

In the Heroes Reborn event, Hyperion has flexed his power in some of the most brutal ways imaginable. With abilities and strength comparable to Superman's, Hyperion has taken down a giant version of Ultron with ease. While the hero was already powerful in the normal Marvel Universe, he became practically unbeatable in a reality created by Agent Phil Coulson and Mephisto. But, Hyperion and the Squadron Supreme's reign as top dogs in a world that shouldn't exist wasn't going to last forever, as the Avengers have returned to take back what is theirs.

In Heroes Return #1 by Jason Aaron, Ed McGuinness, Mark Morales and Matthew Wilson, the Squadron Supreme and the Avengers fight in Wakanda to save their respective universes. The headlining battle occurs between Thor and Hyperion, with the latter knocking his opponent to the ground and using his atomic vision to try to destroy Mjolnir. But, Hyperion realizes his strength is getting weaker with each punch he throws, leading the God of Thunder to knock him back with a powerful blast of lightning.

Thor vs Hyperion Marvel Comics

Hyperion is told by Thor the vibranium in Wakanda is actually making him weaker, as he delivers an epic, thunderous strike with Mjolnir. Despite taking the massive blow and being more vulnerable in Wakanda, Hyperion doesn't give up. He throws a punch so strong it knocks Thor into the sky, itting it likely broke his hand. With the Avengers seemingly about to lose, Captain America uses his shield to knock Hyperion down, as Thor, Starbrand, and Echo destroy the Pandemonium Cube that keeps the fake reality together.

It's tough to declare a winner in the fight. One of Hyperion's biggest weaknesses was exposed in Wakanda, as the vibranium made him much weaker than he usually would be. Thor delivered some powerful strikes at Marvel's Superman but was still knocked back despite his opponent not being at full strength. While the Avengers won the overall battle, Hyperion kept up with Thor, even with the disadvantage. Thor won the fight, but Hyperion might have proven he's stronger. Heroes Return #1 is in stores now.
