Tom Welling recently recalled rejecting the idea of <em>Smallville </em>season 6's "Noir" being a musical episode, threatening to not show up to work. On the one hand, I do think it can be a bit extreme when a star threatens such a thing, especially when it's something that can present them with a unique new challenge. That said, while part of me thinks the episode would've been befitting of the musical format, I do think it could've gone a step too far, and as such he was right to argue against it.
