Speaking with <em>ScreenRant</em>'s Liam Crowley, John Lithgow confirmed that he will play the iconic Albus Dumbledore in HBO's Harry Potter reboot series. One of the most talked-about aspects of the casting is how the Harry Potter movies primarily used British actors, but Lithgow is American. I'm divided on the matter, as I very much enjoyed the atmosphere that was created for the films, but I also think Lithgow is perfect casting for Dumbledore. I'm interested to see if more American actors are being considered for the show, which could lead to surprising casting choices.
