Following Amazon MGM's creative takeover of the James Bond franchise, reports have surfaced that Christopher Nolan's chances to direct have increased, as the reason he had yet to direct an installment was reportedly due to the Broccolis preventing it. Personally, I think the only reason why now would be a good time for him to do so is he could help shape the new direction of the franchise before handing it off to someone else. Otherwise, I'd worry his shift away from franchise filmmaking after The Dark Knight trilogy may have impacted his interest, or desired approach, to the Bond formula.
