There are certainly plenty of movies that, in spite of their acclaim, end up feeling overrated by the time I watch them due in part to how oversold they were. Personally, my most overrated movie is something of a two-way tie between James Cameron's first <em>Avatar </em>and the first <em>Frozen </em>movie. The 2009 sci-fi pic was certainly full of awe-inspiring visual effects, but its story was just <em>Dances with Wolves </em>combined with <em>Ferngully</em>, therefore taking me out of investing in the plot knowing how it would ultimately end. Disney's 2013 hit largely suffered from the soundtrack having been decidedly overplayed by the time I finally watched the film that, combined with the endless hype from reviews and fans, I didn't find myself all that wowed by its humor or story.
