War movies like Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan stand out as the most distinguished war films of their respective eras, but there are some unbelievable classics that slipped through the cracks and never achieved commercial popularity. Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line is my favorite war movie and it's one that I insist is underrated and underappreciated.
