While Man of Steel set off the DCEU and introduced a new take on Batman in the sequel, it's worth considering how things might have played out differently if the Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan had been the canon beginning of the DCEU instead. With Bruce Wayne believed dead, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Robin Blake would have likely been Batman. The universe would have probably been far more grounded, building off the more realistic approach Nolan brought to the Caped Crusader. Even if Man of Steel had remained canon, this would have brought a more lived-in tone to the franchise. What do you think would have happened if the Dark Knight trilogy was part of the DCEU?
