The world of Shrek has introduced plenty of snarky but lovable riffs on classic fantasy archetypes. It can be hard to pick out a favorite, especially in light of the cast becoming pop culture mainstays for over twenty years. Shrek is an anti-social send-up of classic heroes, Donkey is a goofy chatterbox take on the loyal sidekick, and Fiona is an unexpectedly capable version of the damsel in distress trope.
