A concept trailer for a live-action ThunderCats series ran for four seasons from 1985 to 1989 and featured leading characters including Snarf, Pantho, Lion-O, Tygra, and Jackalman. Since then, the series has gotten multiple other iterations, including a comic series, video games, and additional TV shows.

Now, ThunderCats is imagined in live-action in a new video from @stryderHD. The trailer opens to the tune of a dramatic version of "California Dreaming" while a look at the planet is given. The camera pans around to reveal one of the trailer's lead actors, Henry Cavill. Some of the other actors placed in ThunderCats roles include Willem Dafoe, Alexandra Daddario, Terry Crews, Naomi Scott, Nick Frost, Joel Kinnaman, Jason Momoa, Liam Neeson, Raegan Revord, Iain Armitage, Michael Rooker, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Alan Ritchson, Andy Serkis, and Alan Tudyk. Check it out below:

What Roles The Actors Play In The ThunderCats Concept Trailer

The Cast Is Led By Cavill, Stan, Scott, Tudyk, and Rudd.

Besides the opening reveal of the live-action ThunderCats, the concept trailer does very little to reveal what any actual movie scenes would look like. Instead, it focuses on the casting of the main characters. Cavill would be the lead role in this imagined version of ThunderCats, playing Lion-O. Stepping in for Panthro is Terry Crews, whose visage in the trailer is shown to be just a slightly exaggerated version of himself, with makeup to the feline look.

Pantro raises his hands up while he uses his powers in ThunderCats

There is currently a live-action ThunderCats movie in development. While the film has not announced its leading cast, fan castings of ThunderCats have positioned Crews as Panthro. Other actors floated include Chris Hemsworth as Lion-O, although I think either he or Cavill could give equally strong performances as the buff super-cat. Neeson's name has also been floated, not only in the part of Jaga but also as Claudus. The ThunderCats live-action film will likely look different from this concept trailer, but some casting choices may overlap.
