Pierce Brosnan's role in the Thursday Murder Club adaptation could showcase what he would be able to bring to an "Old Man Bond" film.

Columbus being in the director's chair is another positive sign for the film. The filmmaker perhaps remains best known for helming the first two Harry Potter movies, but he also directed Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire. Columbus' more recent movies have, ittedly, not quite been able to reach these same highs, but he is nonetheless an experienced filmmaker who could be able to capture the mix of comedy and mystery that worked so well in the Thursday Murder Club novel.

Recent Columbus movies include: The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, Pixels, and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

Actors like David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Richard E. Grant, Tom Ellis, and Naomie Ackie are among those who will be playing ing characters. With filming on The Thursday Murder Club only just now getting underway, it will likely be sometime before a trailer is released, but things are already looking promising.
