TikTok is reportedly testing a new 'Watch History' feature to make it easier for people to find videos they saw earlier. TikTok has seen phenomenal growth over the past few years and has become one of the most popular social media platforms worldwide. However, with millions of creators constantly ing new content, it's almost impossible to track down a video that a saw on their 'For You' page but couldn't get around to 'liking' it. The new feature is expected to solve that problem.

Notwithstanding the soaring popularity of TikTok, it has also been embroiled in several controversies over the years. That includes raw egg-peeling challenge, as well as dangerous ones like the so-called 'penny challenge,' which involves plugging a charger halfway into an electric socket and then touching a metal coin to the exposed prongs.

The new Watch History feature was spotted recently by Twitter Hammod Oh and shared online by social media consultant Matt Navarra. According to Oh's screenshot, the feature will be accessible via the app's 'content and activity' section within the Settings menu. It is, however, currently in limited testing, which means very few people can access it for now. It's also unclear if it's only being tested in select markets or globally. When ed by TechCrunch for more information, the company provided a generic statement about adding value for its s without either confirming or denying the report.

As of now, searching for previously-watched videos needs elaborate workarounds, some of which have been detailed in viral videos watched by millions of s. One such method involves going to the Discover page and then going through a series of complicated and long-drawn-out steps. Even then, s could only access videos watched in the last seven days. Another method reportedly requires s to their entire data from the app just to be able to access their watch history. However, the new feature promises to take the pain out of the process, allowing s to access their watch history in just a couple of taps.

The videos detailing the workarounds mentioned above have already racked up millions of views and 'likes' on TikTok, suggesting there's a lot of interest in this feature among s. Given the level of interest, the news of the current test must be music to the ears of millions of TikTok s around the world. There's no word on when TikTok will roll out the feature universally, but s would probably hope that it happens sooner rather than later.
