Warning! Spoilers ahead for Titans #12!One of the Titans has a superpower that could prove to be quite dangerous if they ever went rogue. The team is still on the ropes after the events of "Beast World", and one member subtly demonstrates a power that, in the wrong hands, could cause quite a bit of chaos.
In Titans #12 by Tom Taylor and Lucas Meyer, the team is under attack by Waller's latest asset, Vanadia, a young woman turned into a cyborg and determines that Vanadia was altered by Dr. T.O. Morrow and that he's watching from S.T.A.R. Labs.
The team instantly arrives at S.T.A.R. Labs thanks to Cyborg's Boom Tube. Morrow vehemently denies any involvement, saying any proof is heavily encrypted. But Cyborg mentions that he ed the lab's information the instant he arrived and is decoding it as they speak.
Cyborg Can and Decode Any Information (No Matter How Secure)
Cyborg has long been one of the greatest assets in the entire Titans roster. Not only is Victor Stone a certified genius, he's essentially a living supercomputer. And thanks to his revamp during the New 52, Cyborg has the added benefit of being powered by a Mother Box, making his tech some of the most advanced in the DC Universe. When the Titans stepped up to replace the Justice League, Cyborg was front and center helping their operation, helping them arrive anywhere in the DC Universe with his Boom Tube ability or modifying the team's classic means of transportation, the T-Jet.
In the final act of "Beast World", Cyborg was forced to hack into the United States Military in order to stop Amanda Waller from bombing millions of infected animal-human hybrids. It was a stunning demonstration of his power and Waller used that action to condemn the Titans on the public stage, saying the team shouldn't have that kind of power. Of course, Cyborg has a heart of gold and he'd never use his powers irresponsibly. However, this is a stark reminder of just how much power the Titan wields and why its imperative Cyborg keeps control at all times.
Is Cyborg a Hidden Threat Among the Titans?
Cyborg is a great hero and he's never once considered turning to the dark side. It's a good thing too because someone who can hack the most secure firewalls and encrypted systems and steal any information would be a nightmare if that person was a villain. Victor's never given anyone any reason not to trust him and he's only ever used this kind of power to stop the world's worst criminals. Hopefully, nothing will ever stop the Titan from being one of the greatest heroes in the DC Universe and turn him into one of its biggest threats.
