Saban Films has released a trailer for The Toll, a new horror movie about a ridesharing experience gone terribly wrong. A smaller film company, Saban is known for its slate of niche movies, like Breach. The Toll is directed by Michael Nader in his first feature-length directorial credit.

The new trailer for The Toll was posted to the official Saban Films YouTube channel earlier today. In the film, a driver for a ridesharing app and his enger are stopped in the woods by a creepy figure of a man, identified as “the Toll Man.” The main characters are told that the Toll Man wants nothing more than death. The short teaser shows some of the horrifying imagery from the movie, including several strange masked figures.

The Toll has already had a relatively successful limited release abroad and has received positive reviews after its appearance at the SXSW Film Festival. Based on the trailer, the movie seems to draw on classic horror aesthetics and tropes (the dark forest, the mysterious strangers), while updating them for a modern context (the chaotic Uber ride). The Toll is expected to premiere in the United States in March of this year via video-on-demand.
