The interest in a a fan poster, Holland was asked about the possibility of giving his own take on Marty McFly.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Holland sounded quite interested in leading a reboot of the 1980s classic. While he acknowledged that the original Back to the Future would be difficult to sur, the actor nonetheless itted that he was intrigued by the idea of teaming up with Downey Jr. to recreate the scene that was featured in the popular deepfake. Holland added that discussions about a reboot had been prompted by the deepfake. Continuing the groundswell of online interest, a new teaser trailer has also been created.
Relying on snippets which have been included in other videos, stryder HD has whipped up some advertising for a Back to the Future update headlined by Holland. The result is entertaining, in the sense that it would be to see Holland give his own interpretation of such a memorable movie persona. To some, it’s probably a little bit unsettling due to how seamless and convincing the transition is. Check it out for yourself below.
The highest-grossing film title of 1985, Back to the Future is a staple of modern cinema. It has launched a franchise, with sequels, an animated series spin-off, a video game, comic books, and even a stage musical. Beyond its commercial resonance, the sci-fi comedy occupies a rare space in that it’s widely cited as something all movie buffs should experience at least once.
Keeping that towering reputation in mind, Holland and Downey Jr. are among the most well-known actors working today. If the right script comes along, with the right director, the two could potentially guide a Back to the Future reboot that would be worth watching. Given Hollywood’s reliance on pre-existing franchises and recognizable intellectual property, it helps to that remakes and reimaginations have been greenlighted with far less of a justification.
