Netflix’s steamy reality show coming soon.
In the early, dark days of the pandemic, viewers stuck in quarantine got hooked by the show’s outrageous premise and top-notch escapism. Hot singles cooped up together but unable to make physical for fear of losing prize money? Yes please! The show quickly became a phenomenon, leading to increasing demands for a second season. In the meantime, fans have had to satisfy themselves with tracking the whereabouts of Too Hot To Handle season one contestants and speculating about their love lives. But Netflix has finally made an announcement about the future of the hit show, and it’s even more than fans were expecting.
According to season 2 is reportedly already underway. The premise is to remain the same, but because of the show’s popularity, producers have taken extra steps to ensure that filming stays under wraps. Season 2 is being produced under the working title Parties in Paradise so that no information slips out to the public during the casting phase.
There will be a slight change to seasons 2 and 3, as the news outlet reports that the next seasons are being filmed on the Turks and Caicos Islands instead of Mexico. No reason was described for the change in location, but it could have to do with pandemic restrictions or just as a way to maintain the secrecy of the production.
Season one of Too Hot To Handle aired on Netflix in April of 2020, and while no release date has been announced, it would seem that season 2 is on track to premiere around the same time this year. And with season 3 already announced, the wait between seasons could shrink further. Because seasons have (presumably) different casts, there’s even the possibility that seasons 2 and 3 could film concurrently. There is no word on the cast of singles for seasons 2 and 3, so it’s time for fans of Too Hot To Handle to get sleuthing and find out who the new crop of Instagram influencers will be.
