Two weeks ago, rapper Tory Lanez shot fellow rapper and Kylie Jenner.
On Sunday, July 12, police were made aware of an argument outside a party in the Hollywood Hills that resulted in five gunshots being fired. The suspect then fled the scene in an SUV. Police caught up with the SUV and found Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and an unnamed woman inside. Tory Lanez was arrested after police found a concealed weapon in his glove compartment. Megan didn’t comment on the incident until Wednesday, July 15, when she posted on Instagram about the event. She said she would make a full recovery and claimed she wanted to get back to making music as soon as possible. However, she also revealed new details about the shooting. “I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote. It was the first time anyone indicated that the shooting was not accidental and that Megan was the intended target. Since then, she sparingly referenced the incident and made no comments to the press.
Although Megan tweeted to remind her followers that being shot isn't funny, rumors were rampant about what exactly happened that night. By this time, it was clear Tory Lanez was the prime suspect in the shooting, and all signs pointed to an incident of domestic violence. Megan clearly isn’t ready to address the traumatic event publicly yet, but more rumors that she and Tory Lanez were romantically involved have started to fly. Recently, hip-hop insider and creator of the popular podcast No Jumper Adam Grandmaison – commonly known as Adam22 – revealed what he heard about the incident from a trusted source (via The Source).
Adam said, "What I’m hearing, my version that I’ve heard from trusted sources, is that Megan and Tory have been f*cking. They’ve been chilling. They go to this house party. Kylie Jenner is there.” It is confirmed that Tory and Megan were hanging out at a pool party with Kylie on Saturday night, hours before the shooting. Megan went live on Instagram during the party, and the video clip shows her with Kylie and Tory. Adam22 continued, “Either Tory was paying too much attention to Kylie Jenner or Kylie Jenner was paying too much attention to Tory. Either way, Meg did not appreciate it.” He finished the story by saying, “They got into a fight that was, like, bad. I heard that she was really sh*tting on him.”
We know from Megan’s songs that she certainly has some choice words for whoever disrespects her, so this version of events could be possible. However, it's unclear why Megan was hanging out with Kylie at all considering she’s close with Jordyn Woods, Kylie’s ex-best friend. This caused a stir the day after the party, before anyone knew about the shooting. Although the story seems a bit far-fetched, bad blood between Kylie and Megan could have exacerbated the situation. Jordyn, Kylie, and Tory Lanez all have yet to comment on the situation and Megan hasn’t said anything new, so this is all down to rumors and speculation. The mysterious situation is generating lots of interest, so we’re bound to hear something new soon.
