The new images for The Toxic Avenger is a remake of the classic 1984 film of the same name. The movie tells the story of a janitor named Winston Gooze who, after falling into toxic waste, evolves into the eponymous Toxic Avenger. The new version of the horror comedy features a star-studded leading cast including Dinklage, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Kevin Bacon, and Taylour Paige. The movie initially premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2023 but now has distribution for this summer, opening on August 29.
Now, Entertainment Weekly has revealed new images of Dinklage in his Toxic Avenger role. The images show the star in full makeup all over his entire body. His skin is green, and he has two dark black eye sockets. His body has enlarged veins and bulging muscles and he wears tattered, demolished clothing. In one image, he holds his classic mop. The goal was to try to stay true to the vibe of Lloyd's original Jennifer Aspinall/Mitch Cohen creature, with some influence from the Toxic Crusaders cartoon's look, while also trying to do something new and weird and lovable with Toxie's design. I love what Millenium FX did with it — part human, part mutant, all heart.

The modern-day Toxic Avenger is trying to pay homage to its original predecessors. While its design is slightly different, the mop is an iconic prop for Winston's character, originating from his janitorial days. Blair and his team maintained that feature for the remake's new version. Additionally, facial features like Mitch Cohen's sunken eyes from the movie's '80s counterpart are used in the Dinklage version of the role.
