What This Means For Tracker's Story

Colter's Biggest Mystery Could Be Solved Closer To Home

Tracker has thrived as a show that features a 'Case of the Week' style format, while also employing an overarching story arc focused on the mysterious death of Colter and Russel's father, Ashton. The Shaw partriarch was pushed from a cliff-top in the woods when Colter was a child. The Tracker season 2 finale trailer suggests that there is a possibility Mary could have been involved in her husband's death. This would be an Earth-shattering revelation for Colter, who already has a difficult relationship with his mother, brother, and sister Dory, and this could make things even more complex.

The episode seems like it takes on the show's traditional formula, with Colter investigating the disappearance of a restaurant owner. But it's likely he will uncover revelations that link back to his father's death.

While the finale trailer is careful to give nothing away, this would be the perfect ending for the season, and could provide a cliffhanger to lead into Tracker season 3. Colter's life has been defined by his father's death, and his obsessive search to find out who is responsible. Having already dealt with the anguish of believing his brother was responsible, Colter's life would be turned upside down if it turned out his mother was responsible for the death of his father. This could also have a huge impact on the narrative direction Tracker chooses to take as a show.

The episode seems like it takes on the show's traditional formula, with Colter investigating the disappearance of a restaurant owner. But it's likely he will uncover revelations that link back to his father's death. The fact Ashton was having an extramarital affair, and that Mary urges her son to let things go, would suggest she might have had a degree of involvement. Of course, it may not have anything to do with Mary, but all signs indicate Colter is set to uncover something life-changing about his father's death during Tracker's season 2 finale, and this could well have far-flung repercussions.
