It appears that Primal comes to Earth with other Maximals to warn Optimus Prime of a dangerous threat coming their way. It would seem the Maximals have prior knowledge and/or experience with the Terrorcons and Scourge. Since Optimus Prime originally views Primal as a foe, the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trailer indicates that whatever alliance is formed between the Autobots and Maximals will not be completely harmonious.
