The self-transforming Grimlock is voice-activated, and can transform into his Dinobot and Transformer form. The collectible, can be pre-ordered via the Hasbro Pulse website for $1,499. At retail price, the self-transforming Grimlock will cost $1,699.
What Does The Future Of Transformers Look Like?
Pre-orders for the self-transforming Grimlock action figure can be made until September 30th, after which the retail price of the Dinobot will go into effect. Customers will be able to control Grimlock's movement and transformation through an accompanying app, which uses Bluetooth technology to connect to the Transformer. In addition to Grimlock himself, purchasing the collectible will also net accessories like an Energon Sword, as well as a unique collector's coin.
The new Grimlock collectible underscores how the Transformers franchise has plenty of creative endeavors to pursue in the future. While Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' box office tumble may put the live-action films in jeopardy, Transformers One may spark higher interest as an animated theatrical release. Transformers is also still going strong on TV with the Paramount+ series Transformers: EarthSpark, which has been renewed for season 2.
Transformers has remained a classic franchise since Generation 1 began in 1984. The release of a new, self-transforming Grimlock goes to show how the franchise has continued to evolve over the decade and is always innovating to create something new. Now that Grimlock is getting a voice-activated model, more Transformers that change on their own could be arriving in the near future.
