What Mirage's Abilities Mean For Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts

Mirage's illusion in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

One thing that Mirage's abilities mean for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is that the Transformers will be closer to their original G1 counterparts. This began in the prequel movie Bumblebee with the opening seeing the Autobots sporting designs much closer to those of the original Transformers cartoon. This shows no sign of slowing down with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, as the trailer showcases similar designs and Mirage's G1 abilities.

If the illusions and invisibility are anything to go by, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is leaning much heavier on its titular robots' original show. This is also evident by the inclusion of the Maximals. The Maximals from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts are taken from the show Beast Wars: Transformers, which is set in the future of the original G1 Transformers cartoon. This, combined with Mirage's original series abilities, means that Rise of the Beasts will be more like the original show than Michael Bay's Transformers movies.

How Rise Of The Beasts Has Changed Mirage From Transformers

While it's unclear just how different Mirage will be in Rise of the Beasts from the original Transformers series, the trailer does showcase one main way he's been changed. In the original cartoon, after their crash landing on Earth, the Transformers received their new transformations with each being able to transform into Earthly vehicles. In the case of Mirage, he could transform into a Ligier JS11-Ford Formula One racing car. In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, though, Mirage transforms into a silver and blue Porsche 964, proving that the movie may still take liberties from the source material despite leaning closer to G1 of the Transformers that began in Bumblebee.
