Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts! The Transformers franchise's future is set up as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts makes multiple sequels, spinoffs, and other movies possible. Continuing Paramount's relaunch of the continuity that began in 2018, the seventh live-action Transformers movie is viewed as a key piece to the long-term plans for the property. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts focuses on a story that revolves around the Autobots and Maximals coming together with new human aids to save Earth, as Unicron, the Terrorcons, and Predacons mount an invasion. Many of the elements included in the movie help expand the franchise in new ways that open up fresh possibilities for the future.

As long as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a box office success, Paramount will be in a good position to continue the franchise in many different ways. The studio has not been shy in the past about announcing its intentions to make a new trilogy and expand the franchise in other ways, such as the animated movie Transformers: One focused on Optimus Prime and Megatron. The animated movie is not a direct continuation of the current new canon, but there is room for many more stories in this universe to be told now. Here is every Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel and spinoff the movie sets up.

8 Transformers 8

Who Dies In Transformers Rise of the Beasts

Paramount has already confirmed that a Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel, also known as Transformers 8, is in development. The confirmation came in February 2022 when it was announced that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was the first of three new installments. There has been no update on the status of the sequel so far, but director Steven Caple Jr. has expressed an interest in returning. Transformers 8 does not currently have a release date, though, making it unclear when audiences will see the next chapter in this adventure. The good news is that Paramount has confidence it will happen.

Some direct setup for Transformers 8 comes through Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' post-credits scene. The sequence shows Noah has rebuilt Mirage, allowing them to remain at the forefront of the next installment. The continued focus on Noah and Mirage should see them reunite with the Autobots on another mission to save the world, which Optimus Prime will be more willing to do after the events of this movie. It would not be too surprising if Megatron returns in Transformers 8 as the main villain, picking up the baton from Scourge to do Unicron's bidding and become more powerful as Galvatron.

7 Transformers 9

It is also known that Transformers 9 is coming as the conclusion to the trilogy, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' ending already begins the setup for the sequel. The first installment only briefly used Unicron and left him as a threat who should loom over the remaining movies. It would make sense for Transformers 9 to be the movie where Unicron is more prominently featured. This will require Unicron to find additional ways to travel the universe after the Transwarp Key is destroyed. But, the fact that Optimus Prime knows Unicron is not dead and only temporarily defeated signals the possible confrontation in Transformers 9.

6 G.I. Joe Reboot

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets up a surprise new movie by signaling plans for a G.I. Joe reboot. The movie's ending officially brings the G.I. Joe organization into the Transformers franchise after several attempts by Paramount to launch a standalone franchise over the past decade. This version of G.I. Joe appears to be completely different and part of Paramount's plan to reboot the series again. This means that the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts tease helps set up a G.I. Joe reboot with a new cast of characters playing of the team. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously told Collider a new G.I. Joe movie was in development.

5 Transformers & G.I. Joe Crossover

Not only is a new G.I. Joe movie set up, but the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts G.I. Joe crossover sets up a proper event movie featuring both the Joes and Autobots. There is a chance that the G.I. Joes and Transformers will appear briefly in the individual franchises, but it should only be a matter of time before Paramount green lights an actual Transformers & G.I. Joe movie. The decision to have the organization appear in the final moments of the trilogy starter is a clear sign of the start of a Hasbro Cinematic Universe that builds to a Transformers & G.I. Joe crossover movie.

4 Bumblebee 2

It also is possible that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets up Bumblebee 2. Paramount previously announced plans to make a direct sequel to the 2018 movie starring Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie Watson. While Hailee Steinfeld does not return for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Bumblebee makes a reference to his time with her seven years ago. Now that Optimus Prime is more accepting of humans and Mirage and Noah's partnership will continue, there is a path for Bumblebee and Charlie to reunite. This makes Bumblebee 2 possible again.

3 Maximals Spinoff

Paramount could also make a Maximals spinoff movie, as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets up how it could work. The movie concludes with Optimus Primal, Cheetor, and Rhinox as the last known Maximals, but their future after helping the Autobots is not quite as clear. While they could certainly return for major roles in Transformers 8, a Maximals spinoff would also be able to make them the focus and further explore their lives on Earth. It could chronicle everything from what they have been up to for the last 7,000 years to a brand-new adventure dealing with the fallout of defeating Unicron and the Terrorcons.

2 Maximals Beast Wars Prequel

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets up another Transformers movie, which could be a Beast Wars-style prequel focused on the Maximals. The movie's opening sequence explores the Maximals on their home world and introduces their place in the fight against Unicron and the Terrorcons. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts changes Beast Wars and proves to be very different in of its scale, the actual story, and the characters involved. A Maximals prequel would be an opportunity to go back and explore more of the faction's history, their connection to the Autobots, and be a more proper exploration of the Beast Wars story.

1 Transformers Origins

Optimus Prime from The Last Knight and Primus from the Transformers comics

Another possibility for a Transformers movie Rise of the Beasts sets up is one focused on the Transformers' origins. The movie makes a direct mention to Primus, the god-like being responsible for creating the Transformers. With the franchise already going back in the timeline for this installment, it would be fascinating for the movies to go back even further and explore the very beginning of the Transformers. A Transformers origin movie could be risky and difficult to pull off correctly, but it is also a prequel option that likely would not interfere too much with what else Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets up.
