Ahead of its release near the end of the month, Netflix has debuted a new trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege. The footage paints a bleak picture for the Autobots, with them on the losing side. Check out the trailer below.

It's hard not to be excited for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy. Based on the footage released, it appears to be the darkest take on the Transformers mythos to be put on the screen. Optimus Prime and Megatron have battled each other many times in media before, but this looks to be perhaps their best yet. Not only that, but it will be interesting seeing how the other iconic characters, like Soundwave, will be utilized. How this version of the iconic Cybertron war goes down should be a treat to witness for longtime and newer fans alike.

The plot synopsis for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege reads, "It is the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own . In an attempt to end the conflict, Megatron is forced to consider using the Allspark, the source of all life and power on Cybertron, to “reformat” the Autobots, thus “unifying” Cybertron. Outnumbered, outgunned, and under SIEGE, the battle-weary Autobots orchestrate a desperate series of counterstrikes on a mission that, if everything somehow goes right, will end with an unthinkable choice: kill their planet in order to save it."
