The Twilight series is definitely one of the most popular franchises of all time. This young adult romance series about vampires and werewolves changed the genre in many ways and influenced many fantasy and paranormal stories going forward. While it might be popular, it might not seem like there are many similarities between Twilight and Disney.

However, given how many characters and stories Disney has, there is a character that matches nearly every Twilight character. While these characters aren’t all from the same film, many of them are.

Aro: Hades

Hades smiling in an evil way in Hercules

This comparison has less to do with personality and more to do with how the characters function in the story. Both Hades and Aro are extremely old, powerful figures that are also villains.

While Aro isn’t technically a god-like Hades is, he is nearly god-like in his ability to live forever and the power he wields as the leader of the Volturi. They are definitely both leaders of their own kind of underworlds.

Emmett Cullen: Hercules

Emmett Cullen is the most lighthearted and extroverted of any of the Cullen family, but this doesn’t mean his personality is exactly like Hercules’. Hercules is more shy and serious, as opposed to how chill Emmett is.

However, given how strong Emmett is, it makes sense to compare him to one of the physically strongest characters from Disney. Plus, they are both characters who aren’t quite gods but do have nearly god-like powers.

Alice Cullen: Alice in Wonderland

This matchup is a great one, and this isn’t just because both characters have the same name, although that is the icing on the cake. Both Alice Cullen and Alice in Wonderland both come off as rather eccentric with their heads in the clouds, and they are both associated with fantastical powers more than many other characters.

And, despite being rather girly and even dainty, they are both very strong characters in their own right.

Rosalie Hale: Elsa

Elsa Frozen

Rosalie Hale is definitely the Cullen who is the most reserved and to herself. She takes a while to warm up to people, and she doesn’t really trust others, except for her family. This makes her the most like another legendary ice queen, Elsa.

Both of these women are often misunderstood and are very loyal to their families, and they are both well-known for their cold beauty.

Cruella De Ville: Victoria

Cruella De Vil

Victoria is one of many interesting villains from the Twilight Saga, and she’s definitely one of the most memorable female villains. Given her rather sadistic personality, it makes sense to compare her to Cruella de Ville, who is another cruel and uncaring villain.

Plus, they are both fashion icons in their own ways, and it’s not hard to imagine Victoria being totally fine with skinning puppies to make a coat.

Charlie Swan: Maurice

Maurice searching the woods (Beauty And The Beast)

While not all of the characters from Twilight have a Disney counterpart from the same film, a few of them do. Some pair up best with characters from Beauty and the Beast.

Charlie would be like Maurice because he’s an overall caring and loving father who is sometimes oblivious and a bit lost as to how to be a parent.

Mike Newton: Gaston

Gaston

While the love triangle aspect of Beauty and the Beast might make one think that Gaston is Jacob, this doesn’t make sense with Jacob’s personality. Also, Jacob isn’t a villain either.

Instead, Gaston is more like a Mike Newton character. They both think they have some claim on the heroine, despite the fact that she isn’t interested in him at all.

Jacob Black: David From Lilo And Stitch

Jacob Black is a hard character to compare because he is multifaceted. His personality changes a lot through the series, as he faces different obstacles and becomes a shape-shifter.

However, especially during Twilight and New Moon, he has a similar personality to the amazing and kind-hearted David from Lilo and Stitch. In these books, especially, he’s a great friend and sweetheart.

Edward Cullen: The Beast

Belle and Beast Kiss from Disney Beauty and the Beast

Edward is another character that works in the Beauty and the Beast analogy. He is a character that is somewhat of a “beast,” as he’s not entirely human, but Bella learns that he’s not nearly as scary or bad as most people would assume. He’s also rather traditional and has an angry side, just like the Beast does.

And also just like the Beast, Edward also finally finds his true love after years of waiting, and he considers himself a cursed person, just like Beast is cursed.

Bella Swan: Belle

While the analogy works well here because, as mentioned, Edward matches up with the Beast in several ways, Bella also matches Belle in personality.

Plus, this is another instance where the names line up almost perfectly, as well. Bella is also a rather introverted person who loves to read and is a bit unassuming. These characters are both quite comionate, too.
