The last few days have been filled with people coming forward to from streamers and influencers on Twitch is still a prolific platform with many streamers and viewers.

People are coming forward to accuse Twitch and its partners of being complicit in systemic sexism, racism, and homophobia, and in some cases this has led to the dismissal of the ab. Over forty individuals in the games industry space alone have been named and accused of unacceptable behavior ranging from emotional abuse to rape over the past week, with more survivors coming forward each day.

This might have been in response to Twitter Starling's tweet at Shear, who said that the CEO was asked in an All Hands meeting about partners of Twitch using their power to abuse women, using her case in particular as an example. She reports that Shear laughed this off, saying that he couldn't really comment, and moved on.

This is not the kind of response one hopes to receive from a company with such serious allegations against them, with many coming forward to report similar instances of harassment or abuse on the Twitch platform as evidence to the gravity of the situation. Esports journalist Slasher simply commented that Emmett Shear is not fit to be CEO of Twitch on his retweet of Shear's now open internal email.

This sums up what most people are thinking at this time, and during the political unrest and social awareness that has been the foremost topic of conversation for the last month or so, Twitch is going to have to face their s and act on these accusations, instead of letting it slide like so many other cases. However, with so many allegations currently made against both content creators and the CEO of Twitch, major change will likely start with leadership shifts - and likely should, given the way the situation has been handled up until this point.
