Top streaming service Twitch.tv has been mostly offline for hours now with only intermittent connections sporadically becoming available for some s. Twitch went down approximately seven hours ago from the time of this writing with official social s addressing the outage and making light of the situation as they work to bring it back online for everyone.
Though the potential loss of revenue for thousands upon thousands of ad impressions on video pre-rolls, it's a costly downtime for a site and application that has over 10 million active s daily. It's also of course potentially problematic for fulltime streamers relying on donations and subscriptions.
Twitch's channel reported the issue on Twitter right away and thought they had it partly resolved shortly thereafter until it went dark again for a long time:

If you're looking to stream or browse for content yourself, keep checking. We've gotten it to work in recent minutes and full service should be restored shortly.
Update: Service appears to be back up although Twitch has yet to confirm if everything's back at 100%.
