Ultimate Wolverine #2 by Chris Condon and Alessandro Cappuccio sends Logan on a test against the Eurasian Republic’s best soldiers in order to put any doubts the Rasputins have about their Winter Soldier to rest. Wolverine's Brutality Officially Sures Deadpool's in the Ultimate Universe
Ultimate Wolverine #2 by Chris Condon, Alessandro Cappuccio, Bryan Valenza, and Cory Petit
The page of Logan holding the heads of his victims is dark, cementing the Ultimate Wolverine’s status as one of Marvel’s most violent heroes. While the Ultimate Universe’s new take on Logan has been no stranger to violence, his ruthless killing of his prey grants him a viciousness seldom seen in his mainstream counterpart. While Marvel Comics is no stranger to brutal protagonists, such as Deadpool or the Punisher, Logan’s streaks of brutality have always had him stand head and shoulders above the rest in of the violence he is capable of.
Wolverine has a reputation as one of the Marvel Universe’s most violent heroes.
Logan’s powers also serve as a key reason why he can be more brutal than his contemporaries. His healing factor lets him regenerate from most attacks, and his adamantium claws let him cut through any defense like paper. Other characters, such as Deadpool, have similar capacities for violence and have their own fair share of gory moments, but few have consistently taken things as far as Logan. As a result, Wolverine has a reputation as one of the Marvel Universe’s most violent heroes, which the Ultimate Universe capitalizes on.
The Ultimate Universe Lets Wolverine Be Even More Violent Than Usual
Logan's Morality Usually Keeps Him from Going Too Far
This new version of Wolverine’s violent streak also differentiates him from his mainstream counterpart. While Logan was always a violent character, even with his berserker rages, Wolverine's moral code and self-control have always kept him from going as far as his Ultimate counterpart. This version of Wolverine, untethered by any moral constraints, pushes the character’s brutal nature further than before, giving him actions more befitting an R rating. Ultimate Wolverine’s antagonistic role as the Winter Soldier pushes him even further, letting him get as violent as the situation calls for.

It's Terrifying, But Marvel's New Wolverine Is Inspired by Silence of the Lambs' Hannibal Lecter
"It’s just an innate horror within us all. Who wouldn’t be terrified of a man running at you with six knives sticking out of his fists?"
The Ultimate Universe’s Wolverine has certainly sured Deadpool in of brutality. His killing of Eurasian soldiers in Ultimate Wolverine #2, followed by him displaying their heads to his masters, proves that Logan’s violent aspects are alive and well in the Ultimate Universe. As the new Winter Soldier, Wolverine gets to indulge in a villainous role, letting him go further than his mainstream counterpart ever has.
