The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt may have ended its run on Netflix, but its humor and characters will stay with viewers forever. Even with the exaggerated personalities prevalent on the show, there was always someone to relate to.
Not everyone, in fact, most people, can be as upbeat as Kimmy, but add in Titus, Jacqueline, Lillian, Xan, and the rest and there really is someone for everyone. Not sure who to pick as your fave of faves? Well, here is the cast of Kimmy Schmidt organized by the Chinese zodiac symbol they are most similar to.
Rat - Lillian
2020 is the year of the rat and that certainly makes it Lillian's year. Lillian, Titus and Kimmy's landlord is always watching out for the neighborhood and trying to make a buck. Like any good rat she is resourceful, and her sense of humor is certainly something to watch. Despite how she might want to be perceived, Lillian is kind as well. She not only makes friends with her tenants, but helps to take care of them, in part by not kicking them out.
Ox - Kimmy
Ellie Kemper's, Kimmy Schmidt herself, would be an ox. Those born in the year of the ox are known for being diligent, dependable, strong, and determined. Kimmy works hard for everything she wants (post bunker) and is always there for her friends. She had to be strong to make it through her kidnapping, and the show itself focuses on Kimmy's determination to rebuild her life and make up for the time she missed.
Tiger- Titus
Titus may fall into dramatic fits of depression sometimes, but overall he is brave, just trying to be an actor in New York. He has to have the confidence to be himself. He is always competitive in the ever-changing world of theater and entertainment. Titus, like Kimmy, follows his dreams, even if it's not always with a smile on his face. Titus certainly fits in with those born in the year of the Tiger.
Rabbit - Cyndee
Cyndee was the first of the women kidnapped by the reverend. Overall Cyndee, like those born in the year of the rabbit, was kind and responsible.
She only went with the reverend because she didn't want to be rude, which was unwise but still very kind. Cyndee lacked life experience, but she was gentle and friendly despite everything.
The Reverend - Dragon
If there was one thing the reverend didn't lack it was confidence. It takes quite some faith in oneself to kidnap someone and start your own cult. He was crazy, but had his own sort of intelligence, being able to get away with everything he did for so long and, except perhaps by Kimmy, his enthusiasm could not be beaten. He was dedicated to what he was doing, as evil as it all was.
Snake - Donna Maria
The smartest of all four of the women kidnapped by the reverend, Donna Maria was the most mysterious in the bunker, as she didn't speak English, as the rest of the mole women sis. But she was the wisest of everyone, understanding immediately what had happened to them and trying desperately to get away. She knew she was surrounded by idiots and it drained her quite a bit.
Horse - Jacqueline
Jacqueline may have been oblivious to the realities of the world around her, insulated as she was for the most part by her fortune, but she was always animated, active, and energetic. Like anyone born in the year of the horse, Jacqueline was always moving, talking, and trying to be the center of attention. She and Kimmy got along, in part, because they both found it very hard to sit still.
Goat - Gretchen
Gretchen is the last of the mole women featured on this list. She was the only one of the captives who bought into the cult of the reverend. Like those born in the year of the goat, she was sympathetic to the reverend's ideas, which she thought were actually pretty convincing.
Her sympathetic demeanor led to her successfully starting her own cult when she was finally released from the reverend's bunker.
Monkey - Buckley
Jacqueline's young son was often ignored by his mother, but viewers certainly got a sense of who Buckley was from the shoplifting he did for attention. He was obviously smart and curious to pull off his scams, as well as know he wasn't getting enough attention to begin with. Buckley always had energy to spare.
Rooster - Lori Ann Schmidt
Kimmy Schmidt's irresponsible mother, played by Lisa Kudrow, could certainly have been born in the year of the rooster. Rooster's are hard-working and, while Lori Ann didn't look for her daughter or really have a steady job, she certainly put all the effort she could into breaking roller coaster world records. That's certainly hard work and dedication.
