Uncharted.

Holland's run as the Spider-Man has made him one of the most recognizable actors in the world in just a short amount of time. His take on the web-slinging superhero has been so well received that some fans Marvel's Spider-Man was done to make the character look more like the actor that portrays him on the big screen. Now at just 24-years-old, Holland is in the process of taking on yet another iconic character in Nathan Drake as production for the Uncharted film wraps up.

The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley announced on his Twitter feed that Holland would be one of the presenters at the event. The particular image used in Keighley's tweet is of Holland in costume as Nathan Drake. This has caused some fans to speculate that there could be a first look at the Uncharted film during the presentation and possibly even a trailer. The film is set to be released on July 16, 2021.

An Uncharted movie had been rumored for many years with many different directors being attached to the project only to inevitably depart for various reasons. More recently, the project was derailed due to Nathan Fillion would get a chance to play Nathan Drake, but it seems that window of opportunity has closed. There has been some skepticism that Holland is too young for the part, but fans seem willing to give him a chance.

Fans of the Uncharted gaming franchise are understandably skeptical of how the movie will turn out due to the historically poor performance critically and financially of other video game adaptations. Major franchises such as Indiana Jones and if Tom Holland and the filmmakers can capture just a little of that magic along with what made the games so special, then perhaps Uncharted will be the one to set the standard where so many others have failed. Hopefully we will begin to get a feel for the film at 2020's Game Awards.
