With TV shows to watch are practically endless. With that being said, it can be rather difficult to decide where to start. From current hits to classic favorites, there is surely no shortage of top-notch television programming for viewers of every variety.

In addition to the vast assortment of huge ongoing TV shows returning in 2025. Pop culture phenomenons like Wednesday, The White Lotus, and The Last of Us will all be unveiling new seasons within the coming year, with many fans already on the edge of their seats. However, plenty of more under-the-radar shows are also coming back in 2025, with the potential to attract massive new audiences. Although they may not have received the praise/attention they deserve so far, these returning series could definitely make a massive splash in 2025.

10 Animal Control

Season 3 Premiering January 2

While it may not have the nail-biting drama of other returning shows like Severance or The Handmaid's Tale, the Fox sitcom Animal Control never fails to deliver when it comes to big laughs. As the title would suggest, the series serves as a unique workplace comedy about a group of individuals working at an Animal Control facility in Seattle.

This single-camera sitcom stars Community leading man Joel McHale as a sarcastic Senior Animal Control Officer who was fired from his previous job as a police officer. After nearly seven months since the season 2 finale, Animal Control season 3 will return to Fox for the premiere of its third season on January 2, kicking 2025 off to a hilarious start.

Viewers can be sure to expect plenty more crazy situations, hilarious gags, and, of course, animals. While the show is certainly a comedy at its core, it does highlight an emotional side as well, particularly with its will-they-won't-they relationships between some of the characters. Fans of the show will be eager to see what happens with Emily and Shred in particular, but only time will tell.

9 School Spirits

Season 2 Premiering Early 2025

Although it has flown somewhat under the radar, fans of supernatural drama shows will definitely want to check out School Spirits when it makes its much-awaited return after two years. This Paramount+ original series puts a clever twist on the idea of the murder mystery, by having one of the investigators of the deadly crime be the victim herself.

The series is centered around Maddie Nears, a high school student who is tragically murdered in a mysterious fashion. Now, as a ghost, Maddie is determined to get to the bottom of what really happened to her. School Spirits has only had a single eight-episode season so far, but that was more than enough to get viewers hooked.

With endless possibilities for what else the afterlife may hold, viewers are very curious to see where season two will go.

An exact release date has not been announced for the new season, but fans can expect to see the continuation of Maddie's story sometime in early 2025 with School Spirits season 2. School Spirits has received high praise overall, particularly for the lead performance by Peyton List, who perfectly captures the mystery, sadness, and even humor of Maddie's story. With endless possibilities for what else the afterlife may hold, viewers are very curious to see where season two will go.

8 The Traitors

Season 3 Premiering January 9

During the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards, many were surprised when the award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program went to The Traitors, a complex, exciting series released on Peacock. The Traitors may not be nearly as well-known as Survivor or The Amazing Race when it comes to reality competition shows, but it certainly presents a premise guaranteed to captivate any audience.

Similar to the party game, "Mafia," the show puts its contestants in the midst of a murder mystery of sorts, forcing them to work together to cast out the contestants they believe to be the "Traitors." Although the world of reality competition programs tends to be dominated by more long-running shows, The Traitors is quickly making a name for itself.

The show has already completed two seasons, both of which were filled with tons of twists and turns. The premise of The Traitors consistently keeps the show feeling fresh, allowing for new dynamics and strategies to arise with every season. One can only begin to ponder what new tactics will surface when the third season premieres on January 9.

7 Mythic Quest

Season 4 Premiering January 29

Created by a few of the minds behind It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Apple TV+ series, Mythic Quest, already has three solid seasons under its belt, with another on its way for 2025. This witty comedy series plays out in an unusual setting that opens the doors to endless possibilities: a video game studio.

The show follows the work and lives of the creative minds behind a popular online role-playing game, diving deep into the complicated world involved in producing such a multilayered game. Mythic Quest stars a stacked cast of recognizable actors, including Rob McElhenney, Danny Pudi, and F. Murray Abraham, in addition to sharing the spotlight with prominent guest stars like Jake Johnson and Anthony Hopkins.

Although Mythic Quest has yet to achieve the widespread popularity of other major workplace sitcoms, it has consistently received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, thanks to its clever writing and hilarious performances. Season 4 will premiere on January 29, with the potential to launch Mythic Quest to new levels of popularity.

6 Harley Quinn

Season 5 Premiering January 16

The fifth season may have been delayed, but fans of the animated dark comedy series, Harley Quinn, can rest assured knowing that the show is now set to return in January 2025. Using a vast assortment of beloved characters from DC Comics, this creative series gives a new life to the iconic titular villain, diving deep into her journey of self-discovery as she advances through Gotham's criminal underworld.

The series also dives deep into the developing relationship between Harley and Poison Ivy, presenting an emotional, human side of the typically villainous character. 5 1923

Season 2 Premiering February 23

Starting in 2018, the Paramount network made a major splash with its Kevin Costner-led Western drama series, Yellowstone. The series became so popular that it launched multiple spin-offs of its own, including 1923, which occurs about a century before the events of Yellowstone, and a few decades after the other spin-off, 1883.

Named for the year in which the show is set, 1923 details the struggles encountered by another generation of the Dutton family as they strive for success in Montana. 1923 features a different cast than the other installments of the Yellowstone universe, being led by acclaimed actors Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Their powerful performances have helped elevate the series to critical acclaim, effectively capturing the sadness and determination of their characters. This season will be the second and final of 1923, closing another chapter in the storied history of the Dutton family. Season 2 of the Yellowstone spinoff 1923 will premiere on Paramount+ on February 23.

4 Bosch: Legacy

Season 3 Premiering March 2025

The police procedural, Bosch, may have concluded its seven-season run in 2021, but its sequel series, Bosch: Legacy, is still alive and well. Bosch: Legacy continues the story of the titular LAPD detective, who is now retired from the force and working as a private investigator.

Bosch: Legacy has received very high reviews thus far, even maintaining an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

This exciting new series explores the interesting dynamic that arises when Bosch finds himself collaborating with his former enemy, Honey Chandler, to solve cases. Multiple stars from the original series return to reprise their roles, including Titus Welliver and Mimi Rogers. Bosch: Legacy has received very high reviews thus far, even maintaining an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite these positive reviews, it has been announced that the season will be the final installment of the series, marking the conclusion to this next chapter in the story of Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch. An exact release date has not yet been confirmed, but audiences can expect season 3 of Bosch: Legacy to premiere on Amazon Prime Video sometime in March 2025.

3 Deal Or No Deal Island

Season 2 Premiering January 7

For many years, viewers tuned in to watch Deal or No Deal, the popular game show in which contestants try to determine how much money is in the briefcase they have chosen, being faced with potential deals from The Banker as they aim to leave the show with as much cash as possible.

In early 2024, a spin-off dubbed Deal or No Deal Island premiered, presenting an exciting twist that took the game to a whole new level. This creative reinvention transforms the straightforward game show into a complex reality competition series. Deal or No Deal Island essentially combines elements of Deal or No Deal and Survivor, pitting contestants against each other in an array of physical challenges, although the goal of getting the cash remains the same.

This new program may have been one that came as a huge surprise to fans of the original game show, but it is impossible to deny that it is definitely a creative, exciting reinvention of the classic game. Deal or No Deal Island season two premieres on NBC on January 7.

2 The Night Agent

Season 2 Premiering January 23

In March 2023, the action thriller series, The Night Agent, immediately made a name for itself when it launched on the popular streaming service, Netflix. This exciting series stars Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, a courageous FBI agent tasked with uncovering the identity of a mole within the United States government, while also working to protect a prominent CEO from the people who murdered of her family.

The series also features a large ing cast, including Oscar nominee Hong Chau, who plays Diane Farr, the White House chief of staff. Thus far, The Night Agent has only had a single ten-episode season, but a new adventure for Sutherland is on the horizon.

Season two of The Night Agent is set to premiere on Netflix on January 23, offering a heart-pounding continuation of the story from the first season. With the first season attracting such a large audience, it feels like a safe bet that the new episodes will be even more action-packed, giving viewers tons more of the high-energy thrills they crave.

1 The Wheel Of Time

Fantasy lovers will be relieved to know that The Wheel of Time is among the TV shows getting a new season in 2025. This mesmerizing series stars Emmy winner Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, a member of a powerful group of women with the ability to channel the fabled One Power.

Full of multilayered characters inspired by the mythologies of various regions, The Wheel of Time opens up new worlds for fans to dive into, never allowing for a dull moment. So far, The Wheel of Time has had two eight-episode seasons, but that hardly feels like enough to fully explore the universe the series has created.

With a whole series of novels, comics, and short stories as inspiration, there is definitely no shortage of possibilities for where the series can go next. One can only wonder what other characters and stories will make their way into the TV series next season. The third season of The Wheel of Time will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 13.
