To unlock this boss, the player will need to have beaten the main story of the game. After returning back to the game, the player will need to complete all of the base-game and post-game requests that are available. Once the player does this, they can head to Okinawa's Jail to encounter the Reaper for a climactic final battle. This is the battle that all players should be aiming for. Players will need to select the "Knocking on Death's Door" request. This is also one of the most challenging battles in the game so players will need to prepare before entering. Here is how players can defeat it.

For starters, players will want to be at least level 75 or higher before entering this battle. It also doesn't have a specific weakness to elements so players can be creative when it comes to their team build for this battle. Although, there are a few things players should consider when building their team.

  • Bring Healing and SP Items: Make sure to bring tons of these from food stands or vending machines. Players will need to refill these as often as possible.
  • Debuffs: Arsene and Joker can work together to Debuff the Reaper to make it much easier to damage. Do this as often as possible.
  • Buffs: Increase the stats of your team with Buffs to tank hits and do more damage. Joker, Skull, and Fox all have Buff options in their move sets.
  • Physical Attacks: Using Gun and Physical attacks are great for dealing Critical Hits. Use these to take down its defenses and build that stagger gauge.

Ultimately, players should avoid getting hit by Magic attacks and study its attack patterns to better prepare to dodge. It may take a few attempts, but players will be rewarded with 25,000 EXP, 97,500 Yenm and the Death Defied achievement. It's great to see that the title has finally made its way to the west.
