Madden Ultimate Team Champions represents the highest tier of competition in Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team, with players able to unlock access to this special mode in order to compete against other top-ranked players. While other game types in Madden Ultimate Team such as Solo Battles and Squads can be freely accessed by all players, MUT Champions is restricted to players who’ve earned entry to this exclusive championship mode by progressing through MUT’s Competitive Field . With so many features and es, players may be wondering how to unlock MUT Champions.
After making changes to Madden NFL 23 based on player , the August 2022 update to MUT introduced three Field es: Season, Competitive and program-specific es. These provide a progression path and rewards for draft champions in Madden 23, including special tokens that can be exchanged for entry to MUT Champions. According to EA, these tokens can also be earned from playing practice games in Head To Head Seasons, or by reaching certain levels in MUT. Alternatively, they can be purchased direct at the Auction House using coins.
MUT Champions in Madden 23, Explained
To play MUT Champions in Madden 23, players need to gain access by using Champs Entry Tokens, which can be earned from completing objectives and ranking up through the brand-new Competitive Field . By completing objectives in MUT’s other game types, players earn XP which allows them to progress through the different levels of the Competitive Field . The Field es are still a relatively new feature for Madden NFL 23’s MUT mode, but players can easily familiarize themselves with the three different es.

The Competitive Field in particular focuses on objectives in more competitive game types, including Solo Battles and Head To Head Seasons matches, so players should focus on these game types. Once players have earned a Champs Entry Token, they can return to the main Madden Ultimate Team menu and select the Champions tab. By exchanging a Champs Entry Token, players gain MUT champions in Madden 23 for a week, allowing them to play up to 25 games in this mode.
Madden 23's MUT Champions isn't the only mode which received tweaking after the game launched!
