Some of these skills will grant players brand new abilities to use while in combat, whereas others will make it easier to collect resources and items out in the world. This guide will show players how to upgrade their skills in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Horizon Zero Dawn: How to Upgrade Skills
In order to select new skills in the game, players will first need to begin earning experience points. This can be done be completing just about any action in the game from killing enemies, exploring new areas, or completing missions. After collecting a certain amount of points, players will level up and be able to pick new skills from the skill trees. Luckily, this is a pretty light RPG so players won't have to worry about doing too much when they level up. Skill points are the only thing to deal with.
Players than just have to pause the game and go to the skills tab to start asg their skill points. In the base game there are three different skill trees to worry about: Prowler, Brave, and Forager. The DLC adds a third tree called Traveler. The different skill trees work like this:
Prowler- This skill tree contains skills related to sneaking up on enemies or attacking silently. One of the best skills to pick up from this tree is Silent Strike which allows players to kill enemies quietly.
Brave- The Brave skill tree is mostly focused on attacking based skills. Two of the most useful skills for players to obtain here are Critical Hit and Double Shot.
Forager- This tree contains skills that are focused on crafting or item collecting. Players will want to quickly pick up the Herbalist skill as fast as possible which will increase the size of the medicine pouch.
Traveler- Those who are playing the DLC will have access this skill tree that grants abilities that centered around resources and mounts. One such skill called Mounted Strike allows players to leap off their mounts and attack.
Horizon Zero Dawn can be played on PlayStation 4 and PC.
