The Sinner was developed Derek Simmonds, and the aforementioned Biel serves a co-executive producer, along with noted indie filmmaker Antonio Campos. In the past, Campos has directed the features Afterschool, Simon Killer, and Christine. He also directed the first three episodes of The Sinner season 1, along with the first two episodes in season 2. As for Bomer, he most recently appeared in the 2018 films Jonathan, Papi Chulo, and Viper Club.

While The Sinner’s second season didn’t match the overall critical acclaim of season 1, Pullman delivered a standout performance in a reprisal role. Now that Bomer has returned to USA, fans can expect the anthology crime drama to create more awards season buzz for the network.
