Rat Form is a Vampire Power in Hostile mobs in V Rising will still attack a player in Rat Form if they get too close but will pay no heed to the rodent from a distance.
Having access to Rat Form in V Rising lets players explore areas typically too dangerous for them to enter or loot containers without alerting nearby patrols. Furthermore, this shapeshifting power can be used in PvP scenarios. For example, a clan might try to ambush an opposing group while waiting within nearby shrubbery as unnoticeable rats. Of course, Rat Form does have its limits in utility, but it perhaps can still be an enjoyable pastime to roleplay as a rodent in the harsh world of Vardoran.
To unlock the Rat Form Vampire Power in V Rising, players must slay a particular Level 30 V Blood Carrier known as the Putrid Rat. This enemy is different from ordinary Bosses, as its description window at the Blood Altar does not include the option to "Track Blood." This odd peculiarity is due to the fact that the Putrid Rat does not exist as a field Boss in Vardoran but as a summonable enemy within the player's home. This summoning process is carried out with a Castle Structure called the Vermin Nest.
