Valheim may be littered with dangerous critters intent on causing players harm but one discovered that even the smoldering forests of the Ashlands have violence in their hearts. Following the release of the game's latest major content update, the community has ventured bravely into the firey unknown in an effort to scavenge new resources, build stronger weapons, and investigate what horrors could dwell within such a Hellish environment. While many are understandably cautious of giant monsters, it pays to that death can spring forward from the most unlikely of places.
Posted to Reddit by yepcockpepelaugh, the Valheim survivor demonstrated that what can go wrong in the Ashlands will go wrong as their adventure is unceremoniously cut short by a group of enemies seemingly pushing a massive, burning log on top of them.
Running away from the swarm, they're instead crushed by the rolling trunk, dying instantly to the uncommon foe. While fellow fans in the comments suggested that the player should have run left or right to avoid the damage, the size of the log would have likely warranted this strategy ineffective in avoiding such a comical death.

Death Is Around Every Corner In Valheim
Always Prepare For The Worst Outcome
The fact that yepcockpepelaugh died to a massive flaming the Ashlands is undoubtedly a fun example of the severity that lies in wait for players who opt to venture into the new biome. The latest area, added as a part of a new content update that went live on April 22, is designed specifically for players who have Valheim and contains some of the best loot in the game as well as some of the toughest enemies. Of course, rolling logs weren't included in the patch notes but there are plenty of other intentionally challenging creatures to encounter.
Built to be the most challenging biome yet introduced to Valheim, players who explore the ignited wasteland will no doubt come across a new kind of enemy: The Charred. Taking the form of Warriors, Archers, Warlocks, and Twitchers, these brutal opponents are immune to poison, extremely resistant to fire damage, and are only weak to Spirit, meaning players will need to properly equip themselves before engaging in battle. Yet perhaps the most sinister new foe is the Fallen Valkyrie, a creature that's both hard to track down and even hit in combat thanks to its ranged attacks.
The Ashalands update for Valheim has been one of the biggest introduced to the game in of sheer scale. Aside from the inclusion of an entirely new biome and enemies, players can also discover over 30 new crafting materials, more than 70 buildable items, and another 30 extra weapons for their arsenal. The beta build of the Ashlands update is now available on Steam.
