Valkyrie Elysium has many changes from previous series installments in both gameplay and story, but it stays true to its legacy by having multiple endings that can be unlocked by the player. The quest to save the world from Ragnarök can end in four different ways, depending on what conditions the player has fulfilled in the game.
Valkyrie Elysium is a sequel to Valkyrie Profile, and just like in that game the conditions to the different endings, including the True Ending, are scattered throughout the game. All four are required for anyone wanting to complete all 100% of the achievements, as the Unbound Possibilities achievement requires the player to complete every ending. However, so long as the player is careful in their playthrough, they can view all endings on a single file, as the deciding factors for each ending are in Chapter 9, the final chapter of the game. After seeing one ending, the player just needs to reload Chapter 9 and do a few things different.
Unlike the many endings of The Quarry, which depend on many choices and who is alive or dead, Valkyrie Elysium's endings are connected to a single conversation and whether they have collected nine of a specific item. There are nine Verdant Blossoms, glowing green flowers, scattered across Valkyrie Elysium's Chapters, which can be replayed if a Verdant Blossom was missed. If the player hasn't picked all nine, they will get either the good or one of two bad endings depending on a choice they make in Chapter Nine. Picking all nine unlocks the chance to obtain the True Ending.
The Items Needed For Valkyrie Elysium's Good & Bad Endings
In an interview, Valkyrie Elysium's Producer, Takahiro Kondo, said he was "personally fond of Armand," perhaps hinting at his importance to the game's plot, as the conversation with Armand in Chapter 9 determines which of the Endings the player gets. If the player has not picked the ninth Verdant Blossom and avoids talking to him, they will fight the final boss, Fenrir, and unlock the first bad ending. If they talk to Armand, again without all nine flowers, he will ask the player character Maria to forget saving the world and elope with him. If the player accepts they unlock the second bad ending, where Maria and Armand run away and presumably die when Ragnarök comes. If the player rejects Armand, Maria commits herself as a Valkyrie and faces first Fenrir and then Odin as back-to-back boss fights to unlock the good ending.
How To Find The Nine Verdant Blossoms In Valkyrie Elysium
Like the collectible Memories unlocking the True Ending of Neon White, Valkyrie Elysium's True Ending requires the player to collect all the Verdant Blossoms scattered across its Chapters and then reject Armand's offer. This will to fighting Fenrir and then Odin again, but under different circumstances. Use the below table as a quick reference to find the flowers, as detailed by Gamerant. They don't appear in Side Quests, and the Ninth Blossom won't appear until the other eight are collected.

While some might think Valkyrie Elysium hasn't lived up to its preview, it is a fun, compelling game with good combat, plenty of achievements, and a good story with multiple endings tying it together.
