Fan-made Valorant gun keychains have caught the eye of one of the game's developers. As with other FPS games, Valorant's weapons are key to its experience. Also like other FPS games, there have been occasions where a particular gun has dominated the meta, with balance tweaks from developer Riot Games not always being greeted with a warm reception.
Earlier this year, many players were upset with a buff given to Valorant's overpowered Ares gun. Players took to Twitter to express their frustration over the adjustments made to the Ares machine gun, as Riot Games had increased the gun's rate of fire from 10 rounds per second to 13 and removed the weapon's spin-up time. However, Riot did this without adding a compromise; it did not increase the price of the weapon or compensate for the buff. This meant that Ares was still fairly easy to acquire, with the buff itself making it overpowered. Weapons dominating a particular FPS meta isn't new, but players were frustrated given Ares was clearly out-competing most other guns in the game.
As reported by PCGamesN, one talented Valorant fan created a series of gun and knife keychains that have even been given a shout-out from one of Riot Games' developers. Reddit Gamerdiorama posted a video showing off their creations to the Valorant subreddit - specifically their recreations of the Prime Vandal, Prime Phantom, Reaver Vandal, Glitchpop dagger, and the Champions Vandal. Preeti Khanolkar, the lead producer for cosmetic content at Riot, praised the fan's work, saying "Woah! These are gorgeous. Nice work! I honestly can’t even pick a favourite because you chose a lot of my favourite skins and your keychains look so good."
Valorant's Guns Show Off The Shooter's Unique Style
Though the guns themselves are imaginative, Valorant has made realistic weapon skins in the past. Last year Riot's Recon weapon skin bundle introduced realistic military-style flair to certain weapons after many players requested it. As such, the Phantom, Ghost, Spectre, and Guardian were all outfitted to look like modern combat weapons, ultimately giving the weapons a more realistic feel to contrast with Valorant's cartoony art style. Gamerdiorama's creations have gone one step further by making small 3D models of the game's weaponry. Fans who want to get their hands on one of the extremely detailed keychains can do so by visiting Gamerdiorama's website.
Gamerdiorama's keychains recreate the weapons from Valorant excellently, and the fact a Riot developer has responded to them shows the level of craft and detail that has gone into their creation. As the game's most recent act launched just a few weeks ago, the best deals and discounted skins sold through Valorant's Night Market will appear within the next coming weeks. Hopefully, Gamerdiorama will continue to make more keychains based on the new weapons Riot will inevitably add to the game.
