VtM: Swansong gives players control of three different vampires in intertwining stories. These stories play out in Telltale-style gameplay focused on exploration and choices while combining it with elements from the tabletop game to give players a fresh experience.

Taking place in modern-day Boston, Swansong puts players in the role of three protagonists. These vampires are charged with investigating an attack on a vampire party. While running the course of these stories characters will acquire ive buffs or penalties called "Traits." Traits often appear as the result of specific choices, and each scene has more than one per character.

However, because these traits are choice-dependant players may not be able to earn every trait on a single playthrough. Some traits will be acquired as the story progresses. Some will be more elusive and require a bit more work on the player's part to solve puzzles.

Vampire Masquerade Leysha Close Up

Here are the traits for Leysha in Vampire the Masquerade: Swansong and how to unlock them.

  • Introspective: The first trait available to unlock for Leysha. This is available only if the player chooses to give in to the premonition when witnessing Journey and Emem together at the start of the scene. Introspective gives -20 to the next experience cost for the Auspex Discipline.
  • Merciful: The second trait able to be acquired. Coming at the end of scene one when Leysha reports back to the Prince. If the player decides to hand over the file they will receive the Merciful trait which adds a +10% success rate in Rhetoric ties.
  • Foresighted: Acquired in scene three, Foresighted is awarded when the player decides to use their Obfuscaste abilities to turn into Novice Olsen.  Foresighted awards a -20% XP cost for the Obfuscate discipline.
  • Difficult Patient: In scene five the truth is revealed to VtM: Swansong. The game then asks the player to make a choice. If the player chooses to reject the treatment for Halsey then they will receive this trait which offers -30 to the next experience cost for any Knowledge.
  • Moving On: Conversely, taking the treatment in Scene 5 will reward the Moving On trait, which will offer a -30 to the next experience cost for the Social Attribute.
  • Traceability: In scene seven the player finds themselves controlling Leysha as she navigates the Red Salon. After finding the safe zone and the Infrared Scanner players can backtrack to the room with the crates and scan all three of them with it, earning this trait. Traceability gives -50 to the next experience cost for any Exploration skill.
  • Lines That Must Not Be Crossed: Entering the secret lab found in the basement by solving the puzzle, players will learn the truth about Leysha and her Malkavian history in Vampire: The Masquerade. They will also receive Lines That Must Not Be Crossed. This trait gives a +15% success rate in a Rhetoric tie but -15% in a Psychology tie.
  • Leave No Trace: This trait is also acquired in scene seven after the player removes all suspicious items found within the scene. Leave No Trace will bestow the benefit of Suspicion increasing -25% slower.
  • Elusive: Elusive is a temporary trait that Leysha can receive in scene three. Winning the confrontation with Richard Dunham and convincing him to help will reward this trait which gives players a -10 on the next experience cost for the Social attribute.
