When Vanderpump Rules first premiered it was clear that Stassi had a lot of star power. She was easily the most engaging person on the show and clearly the Queen Bee in charge.

While she was basically made for reality television, she left the show in season four. This gave the opportunity for other cast such as Katie and then Lala to steal the limelight. Both Stassi and Lala have been extremely powerful forces on VPR, and there are reasons why both of them could be seen as the biggest star.

Stassi: She had star quality right away

While all of the cast from Vanderpump Rules was interesting to watch, some were more engaging than others. It was clear right away that Stassi held the most power in the friend group and was seen as the one in charge.

She was definitely someone who seemed to capture the mean girl stereotype, but she was compelling to watch. Her personality was demanding, intense, and selfish, and it made people obsess over her.

Stassi might have held a ton of sway in the friend group for the first three seasons, but she made the decision to leave the show in the fourth. This definitely changed the entire landscape of the cast and how they interacted.

After Stassi left, Katie definitely had more of a say than before. But, it was really Lala who came on the series and showed she had star power in the same way that Stassi had.

Stassi: Her lines are some of the most iconic

For fans of the show, it was clear pretty early on that Stassi would be one to watch. When she told Jax in the first episode that she was the devil, people knew that she wasn’t one to hold back her thoughts.

She can be both mean and dramatic as well as surprisingly insightful and funny. Her talking head moments have a wide range, but she is almost always entertaining to watch in those interviews.

Lala: She has access to a lot of money and things like a private jet

One way that Lala has taken over as one of if not the main stars from the series was by her connection to Randall. She’s someone that has used her looks and smarts to get what she was looking in life and now has access to a lot of money, both her own and his. This comes along with things like private jets and expensive clothes.

It’s clear that this makes the other cast jealous of her at times and that they are also happy to benefit from her resources.

Stassi: Her early relationship with Jax really allowed the show to be what it is today

If it weren’t for Stassi, Vanderpump Rules probably would have never made it past a season or two. While she might have left the show for a bit and it continued on without her, the foundation of everything was built somewhat on her and Jax and their relationship.

While it was short-lived, the extreme drama in that relationship and the fact they both could be cruel and volatile made watching the series interesting from the jump. These two might have moved on past this relationship, but fans will always how wild it is.

Lala: She has done both singing and acting

Lala is someone that clearly has ambition when she started on Vanderpump Rules. While the original cast kind of lucked into their fame, Lala seemed like she had a clear track for achieving stardom.

She’s worked to have a singing career as well as acting. And, because of her connections through Randall, she’s been doing more and more acting as time has gone on. This gives her a little more star power than some of the other cast who mostly just do the show and nothing else.

Stassi: Harnessing her reality stardom to write a book and create a brand

While Stassi might not have made attempts at a music career or acting like some of the other cast have, she has been rather smart in recent years in trying to capitalize on her fame.

She’s started her podcast and then wrote a book and is definitely capturing and utilizing her own brand. This is a smart move as far as long term success goes, and it shows that she’s more than just a drama queen.

Lala: She’s not afraid to own her sexuality and be herself

One of the most refreshing things about Lala when she ed the cast was that she was really open about her sexuality and comfortable with that. Unlike some of the other women who were really invested in slut-shaming, and directed that at Lala, she was not about that.

It was great to see her be herself and feel comfortable in her own skin and not let the shaming behaviors of others keep her from how she wanted to be.

Stassi: She’s actually had some character growth

Since the series has been going on for nearly a decade, fans have been able to see these characters' lives over a long period of time. While many of the characters haven’t really grown at all as far as personal issues are concerned, others have.

Stassi has actually grown up quite a bit. While she might still be mean and dramatic at times, she doesn’t get nearly as caught up in these things. She’s also finally found a good partner and a match in Beau.

Lala: She can be endearing and terrifying by turns

Lala is an interesting character who can sometimes be surprisingly sweet and caring but can also turn volatile at the drop of the hat. There are many times where she’s really likable and shows that she cares deeply about her friends, but, when she doesn’t like you, she can be quite cruel.

While this might not be a good trait to have, it does make for exciting television. At the very least, she knows how to carry a scene.
