Michelle Williams is officially set to return for Venom introduced Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, while Williams played his love interest Anne Weying.
Unlike many of Williams' other movies, Venom was nowhere close to being critically acclaimed. Despite Venom's massive popularity with comic book fans, his first solo film actually divided a lot of people. The Sony was quick to greenlight the project. Now, casting information for the film is starting to be released.
When talking with Andy Serkis, who was recently hired to direct, saying, "I’m such a fan of Andy’s, and I’m so inspired by what he’s been able to accomplish. He’s so gifted in such a specific way, and I’m very excited to learn from him and be around him". Williams also hopes to see the return of She-Venom, mentioning, "I hope I get equal time that way — I can say that!".
Venom 2 is currently in development, but there isn't a whole lot known about the sequel just yet. The film doesn't even have a release date, but it's possible Hardy helped write the script for Venom 2.
With Anne's chemistry with Eddie and Williams' clear talent as an actress, it shouldn't come as a big shock that Williams is returning for the sequel. Hardy is under contract for three Venom movies so fans knew he was returning, but other than that, Williams is the first actress to be confirmed for the sequel. She had a good chunk of screentime in the first film, but Williams could be featured even more heavily if She-Venom makes a return. That being said, until more is known about Venom 2, any details surrounding her role are pure speculation.
